mod #72

AT the rally I noticed that new casitas do not have the tank spigot....when mine broke I made a trip to home depot and installed a 1/2" PVC valve and routed the drain tube out the bottom. The original spigot hole was patched with a stick-on reflector and caulked.

nice job phil

Phil, nice idea with the reflector. i was wondering what to do with the hole when i had to replace my valve.

how did you drill, from inside? any wires there? did you put a cap on the drain line under the casita to keep the varmits out?

drain

Had fun with you both last week- back to work was a bummer. On the drain, I drilled from outside but make sure you don't hit the bottom of the tank!! I just have a 1/2" tube sticking out the bottom but was thinking that I need a plug of sorts for the critters. not really enough room for another fitting underneath. Any suggestions?

Phil:

Com'on admit it, you saw it here first. ;)

I like your idea of the reflector.

No more nursing that crummy valve! :)

. Any suggestions?
Most larger auto supplys have a HELP counter. Assorted packaged odd parts. Caps, covers, grommets, drain plugs, etc. Always a good place to look for something adaptable to a project.

Guilty as charged.....I couldn't remember if it was your post or Bob Steffen's that clued me to this....regardless, it was a stolen idea!

Good Idea Nick, I'll try Advance....hope to make one of those Texas Casita Confabs in the future.
