*Mod* Scamp 16 tongue box, DC-DC/MPPT charger, Lithium batteries, Fridge & more

Hi all,

I just want to share some of the mods/upgrades I've done so far since I got my Scamp 16 in 02/2021. To start, I have a 2019 Scamp 16 Layout 6 without AC and 3-way refrigerator.

Here are some of the stuff I did. I probably forgot some other upgrade/mods along the way.

- Interior & exterior LED light bulbs
- Progressive Industries surge protector and display
- Hall sensor voltage & amps meter
- 12V only Recpro/Everchill 4.3 cu-ft compressor refrigerator
- 12V computer fan with switch on the bottom to pull cool air for the fridge
- Installed new 100ah deep cycle AGM battery to support the new fridge
- Curt breakaway switch for emergency braking
- Reflective white/red stickers on the A-frame front and rear bumper
- Wireless rearview camera
- Propane tank cover with a hole on the back for the propane hose
- Tarp awning with suction cup and extendable poles
- Added a rear hitch cargo carrier for portable waste tank, generator, & gas tank
- Interior lights (battery powered) for all closets (no pics shown)
- Multi-color LED lights with remote control under the bellyband (hardwired)
- Removable AC bracket for window AC unit
- Repainted trailer tongue
- Removed battery box
- Added addition trailer stabilizers at the front
- Added a tongue box
- Cut a whole in the bottom of the box to fit the 20lb propane tank
- Installed two 100ah LifePo4 Renogy battery with bluetooth in parallel
- Installed a Progressive Industries battery charger for lithium batteries
- Renogy battery monitor with shunt
- Renogy DCC30S DC-DC charger (from alternator) with MPPT for solar charging
- Renogy BT-2 bluetooth for use with DC Home app for DCC30S charging
- Battery cut-off switch (not shown)
- Some other mods I forgot...

To be installed:

- Run 6 AWG wires from tow vehicle battery to the back of the hitch with Anderson connector
- Run 6 AWG wires from Renogy DCC30S DC-DC/MPPT charger along the 7-pin cable and terminate with another Anderson connector
- Run battery monitor cable from tongue box from the bottom of the Scamp into the top of the front closet and installed the display
- Install Renogy 175 watt flexible solar panel on the roof, drill a whole, and run cables down to the front closet of the Scamp.
- Install awning track from Sailrite using VHB tape for tarp awning instead of using suction cups
- Other projects TBD.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks all.

Thanks guys for your comments. I've since then done a few more update including the solar panel, railing for the awning, cable run from tow vehicle battery/alternator to the back of the hitch. I'll update the original post once I have some good pictures.

The two batteries are next to the LP tank.

Wow. Impressive. Here's a new person Q: How did you turn the jack handle to the front? I don't have room for my knuckles, give my dual propane tanks, but it looks welded in a to-the-side position.)

The Scamp on my 2019 came with front cranking jack. I guess you can swap it out with something like this:

Yes. I have 2 100AH Lifepo4 battery in the front tongue box. I've since installed a 175W flexible solar panel on the roof, added external solar ports, external 12v ports and a few other mods. Will post pictures once I find the time.
