Modifications

We recently purchased a new 21 ft. Bigfoot Travel Trailer which we love. However, there is one problem (which is probably common to all brands of small trailers) and that is that we cannot comfortably see the TV from the dinette and, of course, there is no other place to sit. We are trying numerous arrangements of pillows etc. Does anyone have some other ideas? We have thought of looking for very small chairs, and buying one of the tv's that hang from the ceiling. But we're open to suggestions. Thanks. Helen

Hi Helen (Larry)

Welcome to this forum.Post lots and enjoy. Its a great place for ideas and friend ship.

The TV thing I know can be a problem.I have a Boler17ft and have 2 TVs.A small 5 inch one which I put on table to watch news only.My other TV is 13 inch, and I just put it on stove top at nite if we watch TV.
I like those under cabinet tvs which fold down but I have no place to put it.
Other folks willjump in here with there ideas.

Do you have a built in TV on the corner cabinet just inside the door (above microwave spot)?

I do not have a full cabinet there, but a short shelf (my pantry extends the full length of the refrig). See the picture below - the TV will sit where the boom box is now.

I just bought a 13 inch AC/DC TV/VCR but we will not be mounting it at all. That way we can move it (inside or out) whenever we want. As you are aware, others here have LCD screens mounted under the kitchen cabinets.

Have you considered a plasma TV. They double as a computer monitor as well. They are flat, and you should have room in your 17 footer.

TV Placement

Thank you for your replies so far. This is great fun to get such quick feedback. I guess what I am trying to say is that sitting on a bench at the dinette table is not a very comforable way to watch tv or read a book. I'm not sure that there really is a great solution without buying a larger trailer, much larger, and we think that our 21 ft. Bigfoot is just the right thing for us. We just returned from a 10,000 mile trip from PA to CA and many side trips along the way, and the towing was very pleasant. But relaxation at night was limited by the lack of comforable seating. We could not sit outside as the weather was always too cool. I imagine in the summer we could take the tv outside and use earphones so as not to disturb surrounding campers. Do many people watch tv outdoors in campgrounds? Needless to say, we are VERY NEW at this. Helen
PS We do have the corner tv cabinet near the door, just a bit awkward.
