I haven't posted for quite a long time, but we're still loving our Scamp. Here's our latest improvement:
We've been toying with other seating arrangements, like everyone else. Trying to find a comfortable spot for just "lounging" but needing a table to eat/play cards/computer etc.
My husband came up with these ideas.
He made a new smaller table, then an extra shelf. We kept the original extra piece under the cushions for the bed.
I made and upholstered the center seat cushion which folds up and under the lower shelf when the table is up. The back is 2 pillows that can be moved around for comfort.
Hope this makes sense!
We really like it. No squeezing in behind the table anymore. We can't keep as much clutter on the table either, which I prefer
Christine

I really like this. When the table is down, the back area really looks spacious

I was browsing through my Harbor Freight catalog today and happened to notice this:

Murphy Table - $40

I don't know if someone else working on a mod like this might find it useful or not - might be good for an idea if nothing else.

Christine,
This looks great! We've been talking about doing a smaller table in our Scamp. We're tired of the squeeze and we really don't need that much of a table anyway. What are the dimensions of your new table?

Hi Sandra,
Sorry I didn't write back before.
The table is 22 inches deep and the width of the "gap" between the bunk which is 30 inches. My husband said he would have liked the table a few inches deeper, maybe 2-4, no more. I like it just the way it is. Plenty of room with the shelf underneath that we can easily use.
