Mounting a rail extrusion

Has anyone mounted a rail extrusion on to fiberglass for an awning with an adhesive? I don't want to drill holes in my Scamp.

I have done this but did use mounting bolts with the holes and rail well sealed and a thin strip of VHB tape. I personally would not want to do it with VHB tape only. Our trailers have lots of holes already, why not a couple more properly sealed?

I mounted a Keder Rail with 3M VHB tape, then Eterna Bond over the flange edge. Sewed a Keder Rope to a lightweight waterproof tarp and use poles for the standoffs. Has held together for three years now. Works great!
