Mounting a spare tire

Hey all. I am thinking about adding a spare tire mount on my compact junior. I saw this which would go in the back https://www.harborfreight.com/traile...ier-93341.html but was also thinking a U bolt in the front under where the propane goes. Which I currently do not use and have completely off. I have heard the front of the trailers is the weakest point though in terms of the frame. Thoughts? Thanks!

If you're not using the LP tank, the weight of the tire should probably be less than the tank. The A frame will be fine.

I just lay my spare flat on the front.....

and secure it with web straps. and keep it covered at home from the sun.

I, too, removed the propane tanks.

John, did you mount it under or to the side?

I used the same carrier as is in your link last summer on my Boler. I had it on the tongue with the battery and the propane tank. It was just fine for towing although I did scuff the tire cover coming out of a steep gas station. I found that with all three items on the tongue the trailer was awkward to move about in the campsite. Without a propane tank on the tongue I think you would be fine to put your tire up front, however you mount it.

I did move mine to the back this spring.
