Managed to move ahead despite winter!

Rented a heated garage space over the weekend and managed to glue in all the foam inside. Next week or so, carpet goes on, and then windows and then final built up can start: cabinets, electrical, finishing....

While at it, I also played with paint!

believe me its only primer an its rough, but does it not look king of good?
Your call.

I am looking to insulate the floor of my Pacer. What type of insulation did you use on the floor? It is spray or paint on?
Thanks
Fred

Hi there, we have not yet applied/ installed insulation to the floor.
Our trailer has a FG shell all around, inclusive of flooring that is, as opposed to some BOLERs that had plywood flooring.

So far, we repaired FG from the outside and from the inside, painted the FG with epoxy paint (grey one sold for garage concrete floors) and will install 1/2" plywood subfloow on top. The Plywood has also been primed withthe epoxy paint.

One idea is to install a foam layer between FG and Plywood, but I am still not bought to the idea. I fear the weight might degrade the foam and left an empty gap and sag and other problems.

What is your plan?

The Pacer is currently gutted and new plywood is going down soon. I want to insulate and seal the inside of the egg. I like the idea of something that can be sprayed or brushed on before the floor goes down. Why did you choose garage paint?

Floor Paint

Its sold as Garage paint, but it is a epoxy based paint you can use for what ever you want. It is a two part system , you add an accelerator to the base paint and get going as you have an hour or so of time to apply.

Epoxy paints usually have excellent adhesion and water proofing performance, so they will protect the wood fro moisture and root.

Hi Luis,

I'm also in Alberta. This has been a great winter for Boler work! I have a question.. what is your best tried and true method for creating a curved template. Do you scribe onto paper in some way?

Loren

Hi,
I use 1/2" insulation foam sheets. You can see in earlier pics here the purple colour foam sheets as "placeholders" for future plywood cuts.

It is cheap, light and easy to cut with a hobbie saw.

cheers,
Luis

Thank you for waiting for me to get a fiberglass camper, join the forum, and get a flavor for how these rigs go together. Bring on the pics, I'm ready. Sorry for the delay. lol
