Question New (to me) Playpac

Hi all,

I've been searching for a long time for a fiberglass camper. Most around me are priced unbelievably high so I started looking specifically for ones that were gutted or needed some work. Well, yesterday I found the one.

It's a 1970 (that's what the previous owner said) Playpac that is completely gutted and needs a few exterior items. One of which is a new door handle/latch. I'm wondering what everyone has done for those because I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere besides the newer universal type replacements.

Otherwise, my plan for it is a complete restomod that I can use for taking my wife and 2 y/o son camping with some creature comforts to keep them happy.

We just saw that yesterday, someone in a vintage camper group we belong to posted about it, and thought the price was too high. Obviously they didn't know much about fiberglass campers. If it was closer to us we would have bought it, but we don't really need it.

I paid about half of the asking price for it because the guy just wanted it gone. I actually just got it home about an hour ago, so the adventure begins!

The deal of the century Mike, have fun with it. Check the frame first and go from there.
