Hummm, depends on your finish expectations, budget, skill level, and time. What I'm willing to accept in my travel trailer is totally different than what I would accept in my home.

If it were me, and it's not, I'd clean, clean, clean... then caulk what's missing, paint the walls... and then go camping.

I wish you well.

If you could find some matching pieces or steel some from under the bench seats, you could piece together and do like Donna suggested, calk/texture, and paint.

Plus one on the advice given. To replace the whole lining you have to pretty much gut the trailer and remove windows.

One more option to throw out... If you don't mind the R&R of cabinets and windows and you want a like-new surface appearance, I'm thinking you might keep the foam and add a layer of Scamp's "rat fur" or marine headliner on top (once it's thoroughly clean, voids filled, and loose spots re-glued). I don't know I've heard of anyone doing that, but I personally like the feel and appearance of the headliner over paint. The foam insulates better than Reflectix, which is what most new builds use under the headliner, and your foam appears to be intact for the most part- just the vinyl is peeling.

I'm curious what others think... Would the added thickness cause any issues with the fit of the cabinets, other than possibly requiring slightly longer rivets?

I agree with Floyd, it looks like carpeting. I'd be ripping it out and replacing w/vinyl headliner but I have allergies and asthma.

With most FGRV projects, I agree with the others: patch it and go camping!

Robert, could you clarify what is on your walls? You said "insulation," so I assumed it was Ensolite, but now that I look at it on my large screen, it looks more like carpet as John says. If so, much of the advice given about caulking and painting is moot.

Yeah, I shudda blown up the pictures before I gave my suggestion. Looks like shaggy carpet. Caulk and paint won't work for that!

Looking again at what you've got, I'd say a "repeal and replace" is probably in your future. But I don't think it has to be right now, unless you really want to, and you're ready for a big project.

Many experienced rehabbers advise using the trailer for a season or two before jumping into a major project. You may find there are a few more things you would like to do that are best done at the same time while everything is torn apart.

For now you can steam clean really well and re-glue the loose pieces. If the gaps really bother you, David's suggestion to patch pieces from hidden areas works for carpet, too. And start camping!
