Outdoor Mat or Rug
We are considering getting an outdoor mat or rug for our trailer.
One model is the Camco 42883, at 6 x 9 feet. I am concerned this would be too small to be really useful.
Another model is the Camco 42820, at 9 x 12 feet. This may be bigger then we need, and I am concerned about the space it would take up in our Tow Vehicle.
What type of mat do you use? Would you recommend that particular brand and model? ? How large is it, and is storage an issue?
Thanks!

We bought a 6 x 9 for our new Escape 19 last year, and have found it to be too small. So we are going to be buying a 9 x 12 before we start camping this year. This is the one that we bought last year in the 6x9 size, and we really liked it, so are going to get the bigger size now. https://www.amazon.com/Reversible-Ma...9d12461bef1db6

I got a 9x12 because that is what Meijers had on the shelf. I find it the perfect size for me. I set up a four sided Clam screenhose right next to my Scamp 13 and the mat provides both a "patio" area and a full floor for the Clam.
When folded and rolled for storage it is about three feet long and about a foot or fourteen inches across at it's widest (it rolls into an oval cylinder).

I use both, depending on site, one for the dogs and one for us.

A 6 X 9 outside the trailer, a 9 X 12 inside the screen room. Both bought on eBay, free shipping, carry bag included. They are a polypropylene type material and fold up accordion style. When we use the 6 X 9 with our teardrop, the right wheel sets on the mat.

Get one that lets water go through. Ours folds like an accordion so it takes up little space.

...we have a 9x12 we bought at WallyWorld(camco, I think)...it came with a set of strap/handles and folds up small...sometimes, it is too wide, in which case, you just fold it under or stack stuff on top...all dirt and water fall thru and it is sure nice helping keep the inside clean and giving us a non-muddy place to hang out under the awning...IIRC, it was around 50bux.........

I'm a boondocker so an outside mat is a must. It keeps a lot of mud and debris from being tracked into the trailer. Polypropylene or other synthetic material is a must for quick drying. They also wash well. I roll it up and put it in the box of my truck for traveling. They are cheap so replacement when necessary doesn't hurt.

It's a personal choice , but I quit with the rug a long time ago and just use a mat and it has worked out good for me. The rug seemed to be hard to clean and gets musty and takes up a lot of space to haul. I have, however used a 10 X12 tarp that sweeps easily and is easy to hose off and is lightweight and uses very little storage space.

Get a mat at least the same length of your trailer body and you will be happy with it. You need some room on the mat to walk the dirt off before you get to your trailer door. I like the width to be at least able get out to the awnings edge.

We really like our 9 x 12. Folds easily and compactly accordion style.
