paint stripper

I had to remove 3 layers of paint from the bottom half of our little boler, sanding was going to be a tough job so I found a paint stripper at Canadian Tire/ Partsource that does not hurt the original gelcoat or fiberglass
It is made by "Dominion Sure seal" Spray it on let it sit for a few minutes and scrape the old layers of paint off, sanding is still required but it makes life a lot easier.
