Parkliner 16' vs 15'

Hi, I am new to this forum and wonder is someone with good knowledge about Parkliner trailers could explain the differences in design and construction of the initial Parkliner 15 in comparison to the Parkliner 16 that was introduced about 2018. Thank you. Rodger

Layout and interior dimensions are the same. Two big differences in the 16’: (1) the door was redesigned to be flat, and (2) full fiberglass gelcoat interior, versus fuzzy marine headliner on the walls and ceiling in the 15’. I think they also switched to a conventional roof A/C too, while the 15' has a window unit under a side bench.

thank you Jon. Do you know if the weight is roughly the same as the 15' models before 2018 which were listed at 2,300 lbs dry?

I don’t know. I suspect the 16’er is a bit heavier. You could try searching old threads. There was some discussion of the 16’er when it first came out. Don’t know if any factory specs were posted. Very few were made.

There’s a really nice 15’ Parkliner just listed on www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com. It has the rare bunk option.

Parkliner

The 15' has a single layer of fiberglass. The 16' has two.

Attached (I hope) is the 15 ft spec sheet we were sent when we bought our 2016 Parkliner -which has held up very well. I think in this day and age the quality of the Parkliner looks better and better and better.

One complaint on the original model - the hinges on the door. I found that I could paint them with spray flexseal paint and they hold up fine. Aaron -the Parkliner Team Leader, gave me that tip.

thank you John as very good comments. I was informed today by Tom who formerly worked at Parkliner that there was no difference in shell length between the 15 and 16, with the 15 designation as the earlier version and the 16 the later version. He said the trailer tongue on the 16 was 3" longer and there was a double shell on roughly the upper half inside instead of "rat fur", but exactly the same layout. Weight is still unknown. Perhaps someone with a 16 Parkliner has taken there unit to a scale when dry which would provide important info.

Tom sold us our Parkliner. I sure hope he is well. We remember him fondly.
