PD 4135 question

I've had a PD4135 installed recently to replace the original converter in my Trillium 4500. The old one had a 3-way switch on it for Off, 12V and 120V. Is there a similar switch on the PD4135. Or is it ON all the time? If I'm plugged into Shorepower, how does it know to switch from the battery power? (I have a battery in the trailer- on the bumper).

The new converter is always connected to the battery (unless you have a battery disconnect switch & it is open). When you are plugged into a pedestal, it both charges the battery & powers the 12V appliances in the trailer. When disconnected from a pedestal, the battery powers the 12V stuff in the trailer.

Vic, I don't have the answer to your question, I still run the orignal converter on my 4500's. However, I would love to see how your PD4135 was installed. Could you please post some pictures?

I ran mine all the time and it burned out. I now have the 12VDC turned off so it will not burn up. I have the AC for a dehumidifyer.

I will definitely send you some pics. I spent days and days tryng to figure it out myself and ended up bringing it to an RV garage in Vaughn, Ontario. They charged me $964, but they had to move it from the original location because of the wheel well where the old one was. So they put it in the back, under the dining table, near the floor, sticking into the storage area. I'll take the pics in the next day or two.

I’m also interested in your install
Was the issue you had finding a good location or in the wiring
As I’ve heard the instructions are less than easy to follow
