I like to remodel older Scamps and got tired of dealing with old refrigerators. The small
electrical refrigerators had very little room and a new 3 way was not in the budget. I insulated the walls of original cabinet space for the
refrigerator. I then got a heavy duty drawer guide and built a drawer for a 40 quart cooler that fits the frame perfectly. I put a matching cabinet door on the drawer. The cooler holds a lot of refrigerated items and a block of ice lasts about 4 days. The insulated walls help to keep it cool. It slides back and forth well and I put a lock on it so it stays secure during travel. We put a piece of insulated fabric on top of the items before we shut the top to keep the cold air in.
The cooler can easily be lifted out. We use a little pump to drain it if need be. We are very happy with it.
