Rebuild of Amber Rose

After logging over 13,000 miles this year; the '73 Compact Jr. is showing it's age. Have spent the last couple of weeks drawing plans. The colors: the exterior will be Watermellon over Pink Petal White.

I began stripping the interior yesterday and was quite impressed. Having demo'd several 30 - 40 year old stick built trailers to use the frames; they were really structurally flimsy. The interior wood structure on the Compact is very well put together. If not for a previous owner boring oversized holes for plumbing and wiring; moisture may not have been able to enter.

Plans will include moving the refer and using the curbside area for a shower/potty room. Being a single grandpa, I have no need for converting the dinette into a queen bed, so the curbside area will have cabinets to window level and a bunk on top.

Hoping to get it done in time for the spring NOG.

What a cool trailer name - was she always Amber Rose or is it a new name to go with the new paint color ? Definitely want to see before and after photos !

She's been Amber Rose from day 1. From a poem; 'And I awoke to an amber rose dawn'
The color change just follows that.

Oh HOW INTERESTING that one Compact Jr owner would pick 'almost' the same color as another Compact II owner! I have had a plan to get my bottom half professionally painted hot pink as well as the fiberglass narrow fiberglass pop-top and will keep the top half of the 'walnut shell' white, as it is.
We'll see who's is done by the April NOG...
See you then,
Barbara
