Rivet question

Does anyone by chance know the rivet size attaching front and rear ceiling cabinets to roof? 2005 Scamp 13. I’m guessing 3/16x11/16 or 3/16x9/16. I’m trying to find a local option for rivets, acorn nuts, snap caps. Will a standard hardware store rivet take an acorn? Or is that a scamp rivet thing?
Thanks
B

I would say to get the most aaacurate answer it simply call SCAMP. It's not necessary to buy from Scamp but they can give you the correct answer

Casita and Scamp rivets can be pretty hard to find in a hardware store, even a big Ace that tries to stock everything. Check the Scamp online store since they list all the sizes they use. Chances are your rivet is a 3/16" and yes they will fit the acorn caps. It's a two person job--one to hold the acorn and one to set the rivet. Try it and if it doesn't work you can always drill it out and try again.

Awesome, I kinda figured the acorn got grabbed and not threaded by the rivet, scamps rivets are 11/16 and the longest one I’ve found is 1/2... gonna try as soon as rain stops!!!

It's probably similar to my Boler, but changed all mine to SS flange, and SS machine bolt and acorn nut. I didn't like the idea of aluminum pop rivets holding into an acorn nut. Not secure enough for my liking. Can sent pictures if you like.

Steve67, pics would be awesome, I agree, the acorn on existing rivet tweaked just a little, and resulted in major drippage! I was thinking of a carriage bolt with rubber washers to keep from “sawing” glass... or even a softer metal bolt that would break before glass...🤔

These are the items I used to replace all the rivet/acorn attachments. I chose 1" flat head #10x32unf and matching acorn thread, all in stainless since carbon steel will rust due to condensation. I needed to cut the 1" machine screws down in some cases for a snugger fit. A bit of butyl under flange as the pictures shows and you get a water tight seal and the load spread over a larger area than a pop rivet provides.

This video will show you how Scamp does the rivets.
As mentioned above, you can use other fasteners that might well be better if done right, but might take a little longer and cost a little more.
