Scamp 13 Sink Cover Fix.

While the Scamp supplied dish drainer has select uses, the sink cover is horrible, and from our experience is completely unstable as a work surface.

Recently, we have been drooling over the Sol Horizon Rover, and in their ads, they show a roll-out sink cover. We went on Amazon to try to find one to fit our tiny sink, and what do ya know, we found one.

We are now swearing by this little but huge improvement (and the old cover is added to the "original parts boxes for the next owner of our Scamp).

Thanks for posting, just what I’ve been looking for. Original Scamp cover is truly useless as sink cover but makes a good cutting board.

I bought a wood chopping board, glued wine bottle cork tops to it and use it as a cutting board. For draining dishes, I put a cloth dish drain on top. Works great if you can keep the glued feet on...which hasn't worked, and you get a wet cloth dishdrain (Bed & Beyond product) that needs drying.

I like the roll up drain and am ordering one. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

I had already bought a larger version of the roll up sink cover from Amazon. Then I got the same I idea for the trailer. I had a couple of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" boards and tried it over the stove for a place to put the dishes before washing. I plan on cutting two lengths of square steel tubing to replace the wood as it makes me a little nervous having combustible material close to the burners.
