Shagadelic Boler

Hi folks. We've decided to give our Boler a psychadelic feel and line it with shag carpet. Has anyone done this? What did you use to glue it? Any issues with this?
I will be lining it with Reflectix first.

Thanks

I have a shag carpet rack in the attic if you need it

No kiddin' it's suddenly the 1960s.. or is it the 1970s? Is shag carpet even made?

Hey, if it works for YOU, it works for us

I'd be concerned about collecting dust, even if you have no allergies, I assume you like to breathe.

If memory serves, my dad helped a friend install bright red shag carpet in his house about 1972.

Not sure about glue, but I suggest including a poster for the Austin Powers movie... you know the one... "The Spy Who Shagged Me"!

Maybe "Henry" Outdoor Carpet Adhesive? It worked great on my doorstep.

I wonder why nobody builds houses with shag walls?

Of the last 20 carpet installs we have done, at least 15 were shag. It is WAY nicer than the old stuff though. A bit shorter, denser, with finer 'shag', and a more even surface to the tips of it. Nothing like the old orange and blue, long and scraggly stuff used in days gone by.

Two things...

The carpet is relatively heavy. I'd be concerned that the reflectix itself might delaminate, even if the glue holds. I believe Casita still lines their shells with carpet, but it's a short nap and no reflectix.

I expect this will decrease the resale value if you ever decide to sell. It's one of those very personal choices that may not be fully appreciated by someone else.

In the end, though, it's your trailer! If that's what you really want, go for it. You could do a test with a square of carpet over reflectix glued to whatever and hang it upside down in the trailer and see what happens.
