Shelf mod

This is a mod that I haven't seen before. I made a shelf to fit into the window, with fold-down legs, the same as the ones that are used for extra counter space in Escape trailers. The nice thing is, it folds down (relatively) flat to save space.

I may add side rails, so that the cup of coffee or English muffin don't slide off the sides in the morning. This is 12" x 7.5". (It is a surprise anniversary present for my spouse. Don't tell.)

Best regards from Pittsburgh,

David (and Jon)
Pittsburgh, PA

How the shelf is held in the window

You can see in the first photo, an L-bracket of aluminum. It is mounted on the bottom of the wood shelf, and extends beyond the wood by about 1/4" (6 mm). This allows the L-bracket to rest in the window frame.

Best regards,

David

In or on the window frame? I can't see what holds it in place.

I like it. Where did you get the legs?

I love it. I wish my husband or myself were handier. Your wife will love it too.

I like that it is removable. Nice idea. Did you have to get the legs from Escape or are they widely available? I think my 63 Airstream has similar legs that are not painted.
