We dislike gasoline generators and anything that uses diesel because of the awful smelling exhaust.
Propane generators don't have that issue,
propane never goes bad, propane doesn't gum up
generator fuel systems and since we always need to source and use propane anyhow when
dry camping via filling our
Casita OEM propane tanks, propane isn't inconvenient to source and store like gasoline. And fortunately, given how and where we mostly dry camp, we don't often even need
air conditioning so we don't often even need to take or use our propane
generator either.
We only need our 100AH LIFEPO4
battery, our 200 Watt
solar panels and our 3000 Wattt Inverter to power everything we use when doing long duration
dry camping...really glamping. We use a 120VAC 20A independent circuit, which can be fed from either Inverter Power, Shore Power or turned OFF and used to power our coffee maker, hair dryer,
microwave oven, toaster oven, 2-slice toaster, toilet heated bidet seat and vacuum cleaner. We will sometimes even use our Inverter to power this independent 2400 Watt circuit when we also have 12,000 Watts of 120/240VAC Shore Power for a total of 14,400 Watts given that we have a 3500 240VAC Watt Induction cooktop, electric 6500 Watt 240VAC/propane tankless water heater, 1500 Watt 120VAC electric space heater and operate our electric/propane
refrigerator on 120VAC too.
