splitting cushions in our Compact Jr.

We are redoing the cushions in our Compact Jr. I'm thinking about cutting the cushions into 2 pieces so I can lift the lid under them easier. I'm also increasing the foam to 6".

Has anyone out there done this and how did it work for you? My concerns were that the cushions might tend to separate but I plan to cut them tight in length to help prevent that.

I personally am not a fan of splitting cushions more than what is needed for configuring the trailer. Case in point is the Casita Liberty, which has split cushions to convert the King Bed into a full bed plus a 2-person Dinette beside it. Then the split cushions make sense to me.

I plan on installing an exterior hatch in my Compact Jr to access the under bunk storage. I have that on my Fiber Stream and find it more useful as we use sheets and blankets and tend to leave the King bed made up all of the time.

I think if I were to use sleeping bags instead, then I'd have a different opinion.
