Suntrek Vista Refurb

Interior completed last year, just finished the exterior on our 1997 Suntrek Vista. Interlux Brightside roll and tip paint, new front windows, all new lights, vents, etc... Great little trailer, couldn't be happier with the way it has turned out!

Would like to know more about the bike rack on the "back" of the truck. Custom? We have been trying to figure out how to carry our bikes.

Island Claire, take another look. The rack is a tow hitch rack and the holding bracket it attached to the tongue of the trailer. Look at one of the photos without the truck in it.

Ingenious!

I fabricated a bike rack that bolts to the trailer frame at the front, below the propane tanks. It holds two bikes. Cheers Milt

Here is a link to what we purchased.

https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=...unt_Hitch_Rack

The rack we use (Kuat NV) is normally attached to the back of the truck when we aren't towing. We simply move it to the front of the trailer on the mount above and it works fine. Too may bikes though, still need to carry some on the roof of the truck (soon to be moved onto the truck bed).

Hello just bought a Vista

Hi I just bought a Vista Suntrek 1998. Where did you buy the new windows and outdoor access doors from?

Hey Joanne,,
Your trailer looks really nice, much better condition than ours when we found it. I’d love more details on the rear bumper, as well as the lay out because I am planning to put a hatch front at the front like you have, but your seems bigger than my interior would allow. Regarding the front windows, I took the old ones to a local glass/plastic shop and had them cut me new ones. I do not have a lipped seal like you have, mine are secured to the front of the trailer using Sikaflex. Not sure what other access doors you are talking about? I didn’t replace any on mine. I am curious where your propane tanks go, I don’t see them on the tongue? I also see they moved the outside light to the left of the door. Ours is to the right and is blocked if you have it on with the door open. Again, great find on the trailer and I love to hear more about it. It ties like a dream! We did a 3000km trip from Ontario down through North Carolina, Blue Ridge Mountains, etc... Unlike our friends with larger trailers, and one couple with an RPod, they all have weight distributing hitches and still didn’t tow as effortlessly as we did, no wd hitch with our Honda Ridgeline. Double axles are pretty sweet on a small trailer like this!!

I thought you did a great renovation. It has definitely inspired me.
The propane tanks are in the hatch that you were asking about at the front of the trailer. It’s the way it was built.
We’re having a little bit leaky issues with the front window and the hatch where the heat pump opens up.
The escape window has definitely leaked in the past, we’ve had to open up the wall and remove the studs etc. from all the rot. All the seals are dry and old in the sliding windows. I thought maybe in your renovation you replaced the windows. I’m on the hunt for preferably new seals. I’m not even sure if I can get new replacement windows.
Most of the interior has been removed and ready for renovation.

wow. Mark
I'm really looking forward to seeing your Suntrek at Algonak. I'd never even heard of them till this thread. It'll be a head turner at any fiberglass rally.

Thanks for the compliments, we are very happy with the trailer. We wont be at Algonac; heck, we live 15 minutes from the Bolerama meet and haven't yet been able to schedule a visit to that event!

I think there's a Suntrek registered for Algonac and I assumed it was you.
Hope to see yours at some event soon.
