The Burro Restoration, Part #2

Hi All:
Ok, been a busy day, but manages to strip out the ceiling carpet,
sub floor is down, most of the glue for the carpet gone, oye!

Cupboard doors/ fridge front have been veneered, and stained with Maple.
Have cut all the new carpet for ceiling and floor.

Newly made curtains ready to install, yup I sewed, lol.
Now a good scrubbing on the interior, and begin to put her all back together.

A few pics attached.

Boy this is fun, alot of elbow grease, but fun.

Just thought I would ad an update on the Burro progress.

I have just about completed the Interior.
I am refinishing the table top (decided to cut an new solid wood one, and am staining
it as we speak, then about 5 coats of clear coat to seal it.

Has been a bit of a whirlwind, but fun and frustrating all at the same time.

Anyhow, here are a few pics, so far.

Next is to polish the exterior, and apply new Decals.
(found a complete New Burro set, both sides, $65 + shipping complete)

P.S. I found this product at a Marine store called
"Star Brite" Fiberglass color restorer and Sealer"
Wow, works amazing.
All the interior scuffs and marks are now gone, and the walls have a near mirror shine!!!!

You're doing a really nice job restoring your trailer. Just curious, how did you attach the carpeting / center seam cover to the ceiling? I replaced my center seam cover with strips of plastic wall paneling using 3M mounting tape. The tape works really well, too well actually making it hard to line things up once the tape actually touches the fiberglass.

Hi there Thomas, and thank you!

For the ceiling carpet, I used "LePage, Pres-tite Green, Water based Contact Cement"
It works excellent, No odor, as it is 100% Solvent free, and adheres great!

You just paint it on, both the Carpet backing and surface to be attached to,
wait an hour for it to set, and stick it together.

I also used it to secure the carpet edges on the floor.

Very nice! We will have to try your cleaning suggestion for our VT walls.
The trouble with being done is that you are done, and the fun is over. I miss decorating a trailer. Maybe I need a new look to our VT.
Maybe 3 footitis is not just the desire for more room and a bathroom but also the desire to have a new trailer to decorate.

Thanks very much, and Yes, it has been fun to redo it, and I thought the flooring was a good idea.
Granite look stick on tiles in the entry/ work area, and carpet where you sit/ eat, and get out of bed. I hate stepping on cold floors, lol!

Yes, that Star Brite works great, minimal rubbing, and great results.
If it does not rain tomorrow, I will be trying it on the exterior.

Three footitis, hmmmmm, NO, don't get me thinking about it, just got laid off from
my job, and can barely afford this one, oye!

Hello Paul, and thank you very much.
Yes, fortunately or unfortunately I have the time right now,
as I was recently laid off from my job, yuk.

I figure I may as well go gung ho, and "Get-R-Done" lol.

I was really lucky to buy such a great solid Burro platform,
as there has been minimal structural work, just replacing
the floor at the entry door, otherwise, all else was/ is in
excellent condition.

Now, installing the refinished table, an exterior polish, and
replacing the Decals, then she's ready for camping.
