Tv installation in scamp 13

Has anyone mounted a tv inside their 13 and where did you place the antenna?

Yes.

I recently installed a 19" 12V tv with a built-in DVD player to the rear side of the closet in a 2008 Scamp13S. I hardwired it to battery power inside the closet along with the booster for the omnidirectional antenna which I mounted on the roof directly above the closet. I made a custom bracket for the antenna which brought the cable in through the center of the mount.
I used a commercial wall mount for the tv and a velcro strap to secure it during transport.

On my Scamp13D, I have the tv mounted in the same location, but it is 110V with a separate DVD player. The antenna is a factory mounted Delta type with an A/B switch for cable and a trusine inverter along with a 110V outlet inside the tower for power.
I used a custom made mount of my own design with apiano hinge which allows the tv to be seen from anywhere inside the camper and a rod which locks it to the wall for transport..

I don't have pics of the Scamp13S, but here is one from my Scamp13D....

I put one in the left front corner but only use it when we have cable hookups.
Near the bottom of page 6 is the installation process I used

There are some very compact, yet long range indoor antennas. You can find at on-line stores. I'd think they may do well through fiberglass. Has anyone tried them?

Tried 4 different brands of those "flat" antennas; all were too directional to use in a fixed location inside the trailer. Might work if mounted outside on a pole so you could aim it. I have a Jack/King now that works great.

I keep thinking about getting one of those outside omni-directional antennas and then I realize:

I go camping to get away from that crap!

Excellent point!
Some folks buy a trailer for camping, some for travel.
Having a travel trailer with all the comforts is great for travel, then when you choose to "rough it" you can turn off the TV, shut off the lights, the propane and the water, then start a campfire and go find a tree when nature calls.

Of course it is a great experience to lay out under the stars and listen to the sounds of the night. It is also nice to bring a shelter along with all the amenities of home when you get cold or bored.
That way when you start to hear the more ominous sounds of the night or see glowing eyes in the dark, you can retreat to your little portable piece of civilization and enjoy true creature comforts while blocking out all the other actual creatures!

Tv installation in scamp 13

Depends on what your need/desire for the TV entails. If you want local news and live sports, a TV with antenna is necessary. But if it's just entertainment, a laptop or tablet is much simpler.

We always download a few movies and episodes of our favorite shows from Netflix before we head out. If we have a windy, cold evening when a campfire doesn't appeal, we're all set.

Radio satisfies my need for news and we're not a big sports family. Same as at home, actually.
