two gas burner removal Scamp 13/2014

I am planning to remove my Suburban drop-in cooktops, Model SDN2 for reasons that I don't used it and I don't need it. Any suggestion of covering the opening, my idea is to use a lite wt. material. thanks for your expertise.

They make covers for stoves, have seen them on Amazon. I suppose there is no reason you have to have a stove under them. White plastic and wood cutting board, have seen both.
