window replacement

We have a 1974 boler and bought frosted replacement windows from scamp for the door and over the stove. Have no idea how these two pieces fit into the boler. Please help

The window goes into the opening in the trailer wall from the outside. The "clamp ring" goes on the inside of the wall, screws go through it into a slot in the window frame to hold the window in place. On our Uhaul, when I installed a Scamp window I had to put the clamp ring on backwards because apparently scamp has a thick wall whereas Uhaul has a thin wall. Window and clamp ring have to fit together so when the screws are tightened they draw the window against the outer wall of the trailer. If Scamp sent the foam sticky tape with the windows I strongly suggest that you not use it as it may prevent the window from drawing in tight and sealing good. Tried it on my windows and they leaked. Pulled them back out, removed the foam tape, put them back in with the black butyl tape, no more leaks.

Butyl tape rules for setting windows or anything else into fiberglass. So plus one on what mary and bog said about that.

The window and clamp ring do not fit together on the boler door as the door has a wooden core. Any suggestions?

Hi Deb, I called Mike and gave him some suggestions and instructions. Also gave him my phone number in case he has more questions.

Modify the clamp ring or put it on backwards. Or maybe make your own clamp ring out of flat aluminum.

The windows are now in the boler and it worked out well. Thanks everybody for your suggestions, especially Rick and Luke who guided us through the process and offered moral support over the phone. Mike and Deb
