2019, Sept 13-15: SAFE at Dash Point SP

SAFE - Seattle Area Fiberglass Event - We have had a great time the last two years. Thanks to Kathleen (aka KAi) and Paul for all of their work in making this a fun event for Seattle area campers.

Kathleen can't organize the event this year. so'm proposing a no-host event for Sept 13-15 at Dash Point State park. I checked the reservation system a couple of days ago and most of the back-in sites on the inside of the B circle are available. The pull-through sites on the outside did not show available for my search criteria, but they may be. The weekend of Sept 20-22 also has availability, but Karen and I have a conflict.

SO, let me know if this works for you and which weekend works best. We will see if we can get enough interest.

Dave

Thanks,

I hope we can decide sooner rather than later this year. It really was a nice setting.

When you say sooner, would you rather hold it earlier or just finalize a decision? We're good for Sept 13-15 if that's good for others. All we need to do is start reserving those spots before they disappear.

The date is fine. We just have a very busy summer coming up. We live about 45 miles north of Spokane so every Rally we go to is a pretty big trip. We just got back from Ft Stevens/Astoria and are going to Maryhill in 2 weeks. Two weeks after that we are taking a couple weeks to go down to Tahoe then the redwoods and up the Cali, Oregon and Washington coasts. End of July we are thinking of heading to Glacier, Yellowstone and the Tetons. By September I may be pretty burned out lol.

Smile DASH Point Gathering

We just made reservations for Sept. 12-16th at Dash Point. Site # B-47, hope to see others there. This will be our first time camping here. I am able to post on the Casita forum also so will do that.

The park was great and the attendees were even better. If I can make it I'll definitely be there. Maybe I should book a site and if I can't make it I can cancel.

We vote for Sept 19-22

Karen Langlois & vote for Sept 19-22, mostly because I just spent almost 2 hours getting reservations at Dash Point for those dates! I also, was thinking maybe I could get something going, so I contacted Kai, & she said they'd made it the 3rd week in September. No replies to an inquiry on the Tadinaipam thread. So when I finally got done making those reservations (I'm extra challenged this week as just had right carpal tunnel surgery & am in some sort of a soft cast) I looked at the Forums again in order to post it and lo and behold! There was Steve's note!

Not sure when I'll get another 2 hours to work on it , so hopefully we could still get decent spots by the time I get back to it. I probably support an entire State Parks employee with the change fees I pay!

PS Note the new decals on my Compact Jr.! Thanks to Kai's encouragement at last year's S.A.F.E.

Great! I will reserve same loop... 12th-16th ..

It says something about restrooms closed in "upper loop"... does anyone know what that is?

I believe that the upper loop is the tent sites which have been closed on our previous events. I'll be making our reservation for 13-15 today.

OK, as noted above I had made reservations for the wrong weekend, but today a helpful State Park employee helped me straighten them out so we can all be there on the same weekend. I'll be in site 30 & Karen in site 32 next to me for Thurs Sept 12-leave Sun Sept 15.

The best is the reservation site. Everything in B loop is very accessible since it's not that big. I consider sites in the 20 series to be ideal and will be booking in that range in the next day or so.
