Dates: August 14 to 16, 2020

Location: St Malo Provincial Park; located 45 minutes South of Winnipeg and 45 minutes north of the Canada/USA border on Highway 59. So it's not clear from your post. Are recent fg trailers welcome?

All Fiberglass is welcome no matter the year, but for the Vintage part of our Rally your trailer must be 25+ years old.

Rally Update.

I cant put is any better then what Roland just posted on our Facebook page.

PLEASE NOTE:

In no way do I want us or our rally to appear insensitive or ignorant of what is happening in our world today. There are many people and families including us under stress of job layoffs, health issues and wondering what the next months will hold for us.

Having said that I will continue to post rally & camping information for all our current and future members.

In doing this I hope in some small way this camping and rally information will bring a pleasant distraction from todays news and give us all something to look forward to.

Manitoba Fiberglass and Vintage Camper Rally

Update:

I spoke with the Province of Manitoba on Friday about our Rally.

As of right now they can not predict what the conditions will be like in August.

With Social Distancing the way it is now if we do proceed if they allow us, it will be a different type of Rally.

More info will be posted as we get it. Check here or our Facebook page.

Now that we have the latest report from the Manitoba Government it will come as no surprise to most people that we will need to CANCEL the 11th Annual Manitoba Rally for 2020, HOWEVER we are already planning the August 13-15 rally in 2021 so mark it on your calendar now!

As we will not be able to hold our famous pot-luck dinner, free pancake breakfast, trailer tours or RV/camping seminars there is no option but to CANCEL for this year. Also, we have many rally friends from the USA and other Provinces planning to attend and there is no way to know if these borders will be open at that time.

THE RALLY IS CANCELED but there will be some of us camping in St Malo this coming August 14-16 and of course following all of the Provincial Covid-19 related regulations in place at that time. If you happen to also come out camping that weekend stop in and say hi from 6 feet or 2 meters away! Thank you for supporting our rally and please Stay Safe!

This info was provided by the Province of Manitoba for those who do want to go camping.

While provincial parks currently remain open for you to visit, it is important to maintain social (physical) distancing practices even while outdoors, in the campgrounds, washrooms and shower buildings, on trails, beaches, playgrounds and greenspaces. You should limit your camping excursions to people within your own household. If you feel unwell stay home. If you or anyone with you begins to feel ill or experiences symptoms, which may be COVID-19 related, return home immediately. Do not use local health providers, unless it is an emergency. Do not congregate in groups outside of your immediate family/ household. This includes not socializing on neighbouring sites. No more than 10 people may gather in common areas. Congregation of people is discouraged. Keep in mind that Manitoba Parks? staff will be making extra efforts in the cleaning of our facilities to ensure that our visitors have a safe and positive experience at our parks.

EXTRA THINGS TO BRING: Users must bring their own toilet paper, hand sanitizer and other personal hygiene products to provincial campgrounds, yurts and vacation cabins. Make sure you have all your required prescription drugs and medical supplies. Bring water shoes or sandals for use while using shower facilities. Pack out what you packed in and leave no trace; Gas up before you leave home.

CHECKING IN: Due to COVID-19 and practicing social distancing you are not required to check-in at the campground office upon your arrival. You may proceed straight to your site. The campground staff will check you in automatically based on your arrival date and a camping permit will be issued and may be dropped off at your site at a later time. Please remember to have a copy of your reservation confirmation with you, so that you know, which site you booked. If you have forgotten your confirmation, site information will be posted at the campground kiosk.

OFFICE ACCESS: If at anytime you do need to go to the campground office, we are still here to help you. Please ensure only one person enters the office at a time, you may have to queue outside the office. Remember to practice social (physical) distancing while you wait your turn and please ensure only one person from your site attends the office.

CAMPGROUND RULES: In order that everyone enjoy Manitoba?s provincial parks, and to ensure that your camping activities do not disrupt the activities of others, the following campground rules must be observed. (Additional rules may be posted outside the campground office. https://www.gov.mb.ca/sd/pubs/parks-...pers_guide.pdf.

I wish things were different but it is for the best at this point. We are being optimistic at this time so since we had booked sites going up and back I am keeping those 1 night sites booked. Instead of going into Canada we are staying for 3 nights at COPPER FALLS STATE PARK WI 8/11-12-13 and 3 nights at MERRICK STATE PARK WI 8/14-15-16. If anyone is in the area and cares to socially distance please join in - misery loves company.

Copper Falls is one of our favorite State Parks especially in the Fall
Great scenery ( water falls , rivers ) , trails , beach ,campsites ( spaced a good distance apart) and a nice pavilion with an ice cream / lunch counter )
There is a large open field just across the road from the North Campgrounds and in the evening you can watch the deer playing
You can fill your fresh water at the dump station ( Across the road from shower house )but plan on spending 15 to 20 minutes to fill — water flow is really slow

The town of Mellen Wi is small with only one grocery store with a rather limited selection so plan accordingly . Ashland Wi is close to the Park and has a lot to see and do

Part of the river trail and the observation tower are currently closed but hopefully will be open by August

We spent 4 days there last Fall and the colors were spectacular
We plan on going there again this October if God is willing , if not then in 2021
