2020 Nor Cal Roundup, Quincy CA

What happened to the Nor Cal Roundup at Quincy, CA, scheduled for Sep 24-28? The dates were posted at the 2019 event, and I made reservations for 2020, but have not seen any notice of it (on, or cancelled), and I don't see it on anyone's calendar.

the AQI (Air QUality Index) PM 2.5 (very fine particulate, from smoke) in Quincy has been as high as 491 (extremely hazardous) in the past 48 hours. right NOW its merely 168 'Unhealthy".

here is the approximate location of Quincy as seen on this afternoon's Aqua/MODIS satellite pass. the tiny orange dots are 1km grid points of active fire detection.

The smoke ought to be gone by then. We've had AQI in the 600 range in some areas of the Willamette Valley. Right now it's 320. N95 mask on to do anything outside.

the rally starts in 9 days, the fire, thats been burning for nearly a month, is only 20% contained?

per satellite imagery, there's active burning about 6-7 miles due south of the center of Quincy, and the winds are blowing north. Thanks, but no thanks

I think the decision to cancel or go ahead with the roundup is going to be made by Friday, September 18, 2020. That is the information that I heard.

9-22 AM, still don't find any word on the Quincy rally. 17 miles of hwy 70 between Cresta and Belden go through 'advisory warning evacuation area', and 70 going out of Quincy to the east follows the edge of a different advisory warning evacuation area.

Oooh, this would have been pretty close to us and we'd have enjoyed attending. Was this for all fiberglass trailers or a specific brand only or ??? And how would I get "on the list" for a similar event next year?

It’s for all fiberglass trailers. Do you attend the rally at Lake Casitas in October?

Nope--we *finally* (after 20 months of looking) found a replacement for our 17.5 Gaucho Bigfoot (ours burned in our garage when the Camp Fire devastated our community) and just brought it home a couple weeks' back. We're looking forward to enjoying it!

Quincy is very nearby (less than an hour) and we go through there frequently so it sounded like a fun event to visit. FYI, the smoke levels are really much better today--BUT fire "danger" weather is rolling in as I type this (wind is growing and the temps are climbing) so it was a good decision to cancel (unfortunately) this weekend's event. PG&E will be turning off our power tonight, they tell us, and it won't go back on for us until Wednesday morning due to the potential for fire danger from falling limbs and lines.
