Creekside Campground closes at the end of October and wasn't available to us when we held the rally in early November. Now that we've moved to late October it is an option if Burson fills up. It's a very beautiful site, about 2 miles from Burson.

No registration needed. Just reserve a campsite and let us know. And be sure to check back here for updates, especially on the VA Creeper ride and the dinner at Harvest Table. . With COVID, those are both unsure at this point.

I look forward to meeting you there.

Welcome Dave. I look forward to meeting you in October.

While I'm on here I want to mention the following.

Last year we introduced two new activities that turned out to be hugely popular: the Friday bike ride on the VA Creeper trail, and the Saturday dinner at the Harvest Table restaurant.
For obvious reasons, COVID19 puts both in jeopardy.

For now the park is not authorized for any off site activities so we'd need to handle all the shuttling on our own for the bike ride. I'm not sure how that would work.

Also VA state rules right now would not permit a large group at the restaurant. We almost filled it with 30 last year. I don't see much point in talking to them till September when we may have a better idea what'll be allowed in October.
Those who have attended in the past know there's still a lot to do and see in the area.

Walt

Thank you for the information. The past activities sound fun but we will adjust and enjoy whatever the situation brings. Thanks for heading this up and responding!

No sites available...?

Well, RATS! Waited too long and now there are no sites available as of this morning. This was going to be my first-ever...<sigh>... Just got a used Scamp 16 yesterday.

Should I just show up and hope for a cancellation?

Thanks.

Congratulations on your new to you Scamp.
I hope there's a way for you to attend the rally. My thoughts are:
1. There may be some sites that are non reservable, for last minute arrivals. Call the park to find out.
2. Did you check for sites at the Creekside campground in the park?
3. Check back frequently for cancellations.
Good luck. I hope to see you there.

Walt

Yes, we are newbies and we would like to come to the Hungry Mother rally!

Hello Walt and everyone else at Fiberglass RV. WE WOULD LOVE TO COME TO THE HUNGRY MOTHER RALLY. We are looking to purchase a fiberglass rv. While we have read quite abit online, and we have learned lots and lots.....there is so MUCH that we don't know and we have many questions. As former tent campers and being new to this Fiberglass RV community, we ask that you plug us in and put us on your list as we are thrilled to attend this Fiberglass RV rally in Hungry Mother state park. THANK YOU!!!! We are looking forward to making some new friends and meeting all of you!

Another newbie coming to VA too!

Hello everyone! Like Rosie, I'm looking at buying a fiberglass RV and will be attending the rally without a camper I've been doing a lot of on line research but have only ever seen one very old Casita in person. So, I'm really excited for the opportunity to see some Scamps, Escapes and Casitas at the rally! I will be staying at a local hotel and look forward to meeting everyone.

Have a good evening, Lesley

Hi Walt,
I just drove through Damascus/Sparta & Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday. Plenty of vans with bike trailers running up and down on 58, so they're open for rentals.

Looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful area in October!

Thanks. That's good to know. I guess we can just plan to do the drive on our own if the park is still unable.

Ashley - attend rally!

Hi Ashley,
Walt is right, definitely attend and check them all out! Kirk and I had the pleasure of meeting this great group of people last October because we were shopping for one too and wanted to see them in person. Everyone was so gracious to show us their rigs and so helpful with tips and ideas! We ended up finding a 2018 used Casita that was listed on this very forum, on the very day we returned from Hungry Mother! It was meant to be! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again and we’d gladly welcome you to see our little home on wheels! We will be at Burson 23 S. Hope to meet ya!
Eva & Kirk
