The Scamp people have picked a great area to host this event. In the summer time there are all kinds of activities. This small city of Pine River is close to Walker Mn and also many resorts and other camp grounds in the greater area. The Paul Bunyan bike trail runs by the camp ground. This trail runs for miles on an old rail bed, and I believe it is one of the longest bike trails in Mn, it is pave and for the most part runs through heavily forested areas. As does the near by connecting Heartland bike trail also. There are also a lot of good fishing in the area.

Has anyone been able to make a reservation yet? I've called and emailed Scamp and the Festival grounds the other day, but Makala (from Scamp?) (option #5) has not responded in the the time frame she claims she'll respond in.

No response yet. I have her cell # and will hit her directly tomorrow, but they're not off to a good start with reservations.
Reservation information is a bit vague.

Hi Floyd,
I talked to Jim yesterday and he's not doing reservations. He said Makala is. I left a message and she hasn't gotten back to me yet.
I also emailed Scamp with no response yet.

We have our reservation. It took Michaela a little over a day to respond and confirm our site. She said she appreciated that we included our site preference when we left the message. Hope to meet many of you there. It is a beautiful area to camp although I am not familiar with the campground itself.

Why I hate FaceBook.

Glad you found the info you need. Registrants are supposed to get email updates/info from Scamp, and you'll get an initial confirmation from them after registering.

Are you able to cancel through the fairgrounds/campground and book through Scamp?
Explain the confusion of the event registration and they (the venue) should oblige with your cancellation, especially knowing you still intend to book through the event coordinator.

Otherwise, you may be getting the cheap rate to be there, but not included in the exclusive, higher-priced fee for Scamp events/access. (Your route might be the way to go!)

Unfortunately, this happens a lot in the fiberglass tailer rally world. FaceBook flyers is just lazy marketing, frustrating the attendee that wants to see more coordination and information.
