EGGS A LA BOURBON 2025
2025, June 13-15: Eggs A La Bourbon Rally
We, Troy and Anita Hawkins, are excited to announce the
10th annual Eggs a la Bourbon Rally! As many of you know, the campground at My Old Kentucky Home is closed for
renovation. As they were supposed to start in September but didn’t get started until after Thanksgiving, and they’re not taking reservations until completion, we are not willing to take a chance on whether they will be finished in time for the
rally. So, after much research of other campgrounds on the Bourbon Trail and the areas around them, we have chosen to have this year’s
rally at
Elkhorn Creek RV Park in Frankfort, KY (elkhorncreekrvpark.com). Upon visiting the campground, we were so impressed with not only the campground and staff but with the many things to do in the area as well. There are several activities and things to do and discover in the area. There are distilleries, wineries, trails for hiking, kayaking on Elkhorn Creek, great dining, crafts, museums, the Rebecca Ruth Candy factory, historical sites (including Daniel Boone’s grave), and The Bourbon Boat tour, to name a few.
Elkhorn Creek Campground also has several things to do within the grounds. They have a dog park (pet friendly campground), swimming pool, shuffleboard, mini-golf, and fishing on the creek bank. They also have basketball and volleyball courts, if you’re up for that (sorry, no pickleball just yet). On Saturday evening, they have a food truck and a live band at the pavilion. They are currently redoing several of their sites to make them concrete pads, all sites will have water/electric/cable, and all but 5 sites will have sewer hookup. Their contractors have assured them it will be done within 90 days, and long before our rally. They have already completed the first 9 sites.
The campground offers a 10% group discount when you tell them you are with the Eggs a la Bourbon Rally (15% if you book 7 or more nights) and has graciously put a block on 25 of their sites for us until January 15, 2025 to allow time for everyone to make a reservation. You are more than welcome to choose a site not blocked, just be sure to tell them you’re with the rally to still get the discount. They have put blocks on sites as follows (all pricing will be confirmed when booking, but I will include what they told me a 3 night reservation will be):
5 – Pull Thru sites, #96 - #100 (concrete pad without sewer hookup) 3 nights approx. $196.
9 – Grove sites, #79A - #83A and #80B - #83 (gravel pad but with sewer) 3 nights approx.$180
11 – Creek sites, #22 -#32 (concrete pad with sewer hookup) 3 nights approx. $240
We will be your rally hosts and will be located at site #32. We realize the pricing is more than previous rallies at My Old Kentucky Home, but it is in keeping with most campgrounds in the area. Even My Old Kentucky Home is projecting to be at least $50 a night when
renovation is completed.
***TO GET THE 10% DISCOUNT, YOU MUST CALL THE CAMPGROUND TO SCHEDULE YOUR RESERVATIONS!!***
Call (502)695-9154, tell them you are with the Eggs a la Bourbon Rally. Then tell them if you want a Pull Thru, Grove, or Creek site and for what dates. They will plug you in on a site with the discounted rate. You must call for reservations to get the discount!
ACTIVITIES:
We don’t have anything scheduled at this point to allow everyone the opportunity to explore the area. We would like to book a group outing on The Bourbon Boat. Please let us know if you would like to go too. If enough people are interested in going as a group, we will check on the options and see if there is a group rate and will update the thread with details.
