Sep 22, 23 & 24, 2025. Lock A Campground near Ashland City, TN. 38 reservable sites with water & electricity. Reservations may be made six months in advance with Recreation.gov. Please do not reserve site 15. This will be the host and activity site. There will be nightly campfires, a group photo on Tuesday and a wine tasting on Wednesday. There are no other planned activities. Dennis & Susie Archer hope that you will join us.

Recurring event. We went last year. Nice Corps of engineers campground. Not very far to Ashland City where you can get about anything you might need. Pretty country and a pretty river. Park staff made us feel welcome. Even invited us to a
Chili cook off judged by the sheriff and two deputies. The other campers with the fiberglass rally were friendly as were the other campers there.

One tragedy occurred. An acrobatic plane doing manouvers crashed into the river a few hundred yards south of the campground killing the pilot. Never had anything like that happen before.

Thanks Kevin. Proofreading never was my strong suit. Neither was algebra.
One fine day in early May I was in 10th grade algebra class. It was a warm sunny day. The window was open. A male Robin was all tuned up. He was singing his heart out from a nearby red maple tree. I mimicked his call with a flutter whistle out the window. I was in the row by the window. That cock Robin was ready for a fight and flew right to the window sill and called me out. Man that math teacher got mad at me. She sent me to the disciplinary Asst. Principle. He gave me detention after school that day. I played hooky the next day and went mushroom hunting. They are dead now but I’m still calling birds and hunting mushrooms. Hope all is well with you and Cindy.

Thanks, Dave. We are doing very well down in Palmview, Texas! Three more weeks, then it’s back to northern Illinois for us until spring/summer trips start.
