Any News on Quartzite?

We are going to head on down to Quartzite the last week of January. I know that the molded fiberglass get together, usually the first full week in February, hasn't had a sponsor/Head organizer for the past couple of years. Regardless we are planning on heading over to Dome Rock about that time in the hopes that like-minded molded fiberglass folks are still showing up. Is anyone else planning on showing up?

We plan on being there with our Lil Snoozy, and I know several others that have said that they plan on coming also.

Each year, all the pertinent information about the gathering at Dome Rock has been at the CasitaForum. The thread is currently 5 pages long:

Good news I won't be alone, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the official dates are Feb 7-13. if you want to attend the "Big Tent" RV show you need to come 8 or 9 days early as it ends on Jan 30. I wish they would move it up a week as that is one of the highlights of the Quartzsite experience.

I've been planning to come but I am monitoring this Omicron situation.

One of the problems with moving it closer to the Big Tent show is Dome Rock (along with most of the other BLM areas) are already filled with RVs. They don't start clearing until a week after the show.

I'm already here (in the La Posa West LTVA) and will move over to Dome Rock in early February. I'll try to chase away the sun blockers (or at least warn them of what's coming)!

Hi Steve,
There will be other FG trailers there Feb. 7-13 including us. See you folks there.

I'm really looking forward to this. We haven't been anywhere since this stupid pandemic, so we are really looking to get out and camp. Fully vaccinated and boosted for peace of mind and raring to go.

Quartzsite Gathering

We'll be at Dome Rock for the gathering. Might encourage a friend or two to come as well. We're usually hanging around Plomosa Rd or Scaddan Wash that time of year. Look forward to seeing everyone. For anyone new, the location last year was 33.6438045, -114.3046938. With no sponsor to confirm the location, that's not a definite but will get you in the ball park.

If you head out towards Dome Rock the week of the meet up just keep driving until you see several fiberglass campers parked together. I've went early a few times and parked where I thought I always parked and ended up having to move when the larger gathering was a 1/4 mile or so farther west.

Rubber Tramp Rendezvous (RTR)

I'm going to be a volunteer at the RTR which goes from Sunday January 16 – Sunday January 23 at the Baseball Field at the Quartzsite Town Park. I didn't know about the FG gathering but might consider it if details become available.

I'm not sure what details you are expecting - it is an unorganized gathering that centers around February 11-13th weekend at Dome Rock. Check the thread at the Casita Travel Trailer Forum that Donna linked for more info. With no one running the gathering, it is unlikely many more details will be forthcoming.

Hi John,

Hope you've been well. We will be at the Q and also at the WWB in Havasu. Maybe we will be neighbors again. Happy New Year! Dan

Well, I am currently out on Plumosa Rd, mile marker 2 and to the southside. There are two of us here.
I plan to come out to Dome Rock to say "Hi" Not sure if I'll camp there this year, as I'd have to break my dogs yard and Clam down. Sound a little lazy, yeap. But I will definitely come out to visit.

I will likely be at the rally for a few days with my Red with Black Trailswest Campster.

Still a work in progress to finish the complete interior renovation. I still have the drawers to make and the headliner to install. But it is quite comfortable. I have been on the road full time in it for the last 18 months!

Currently camped at La Posa South for most of this winter but will be visiting the Van Aid build rally on Plumosa RD and the Casita fiberglass rally during this next first two weeks of Feb 2022.

Easy to spot, it looks like a little red caboose when the top is popped open.

I think I met you at the first HOWA Caravan in Pahrump. You're right about the caboose look - it's certainly unique. Hope to see you at Dome Rock!

There are over 20 fiberglass trailers currently (February 5th) at Dome Rock. I'll put together some photos starting this afternoon.

Sorry to say I won't make it again this year. Just too much on my plate including dealing with Sigora Solar and delays on my solar installation, which I had expected to have completed by now. Have a good one all.

I was there a week ago so we could attend the big tent show. We were planning on staying thru this week but plans changed. Have fun you all. While we were there we were across the road from a Scamp 13, a little down the road were 3 Escape 21's and a couple Casita's. Just weird not seeing the hundreds of fiberglass campers like the old days.
