I made my reservation last year before leaving the campground:
Site #5 Arriving Thursday 6/8; Departing Sunday 6/11

For the train, I presume that the above reference is for the "Lunch Train Excursion" which departs at 11:30 EST. I made my reservation this afternoon!!

Note that the train ride has a dress code which just might be a step up from traditional campground attire:
For attire, My Old Kentucky Dinner Train requires dressy casual dress. For women, reasonable length skirts/dresses, full length trousers combined with a dress shirt, polo or sweater set are acceptable. For men, collared dress shirts, golf polo’s or sweaters paired with dress slacks, khakis or nice dress shorts are acceptable. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train adheres to these standards, and we ask that you please come appropriately dressed for our fine dining excursions.
After the train, I presume that we'll stop at Hurst Drug's malt shop on the way back to the campground for some additional desert.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of months!!

We have made our reservation for the My Old Kentucky Dinner Train!!

Sat, June 10th Lunch Excursion ($81 plus tax per adult). Arrive at the dinner train at 10:30 am, the train will leave the depot promptly at 11:30 am! Dress is business casual.

When you make your reservations, be sure to tell them you're with the Eggs a La Bourbon group so we can more likely be seated together.

Book online at https://www.kydinnertrain.com

Be sure to put that you want to be seated with Eggs a La Bourbon group.

Or call 502-348-7300 to speak with someone to make reservations. Again, be sure to tell them you want to be seated with the group.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, hope you can join us on the dinner train.

Would this be acceptable as Kentucky business casual ? https://images.app.goo.gl/jE1vxsqj2jrvmxcCA

It would considered overdressed for some train rides I’ve taken

Eggs a la Bourbon

No sites available for this rally sadly to say. Can anyone suggest an overflow campground for us "late to the party" people?

Does this event have a Facebook page?

I was wondering if this event had a Facebook page. I have looked but didn't see anything.
Looking forward to checking it out this year.

The park does have primitive grass sites that you can camp on with a small egg camper. Might want to call the park. There is no electric at those spots but they are flat and close by to the main loop and the rally host Troy and Anita's site. I just checked and they do have primitive sites available, they would be behind sites 001-010 between them and the golf clubhouse. See the map

Shawn: thanks for scoping that out. Knowing that a rally has backup boondocks sites is great information. As more and more rigs have solar panels and inverters it expands the access tremendously. I hope to explore that possibility at Hungry Mother this evening.

Walt,

No worries! One of the years that we went to this rally we ended up staying in the grass spots as rain had washed mud all over the spot we had reserved. There are also nice large spots for primitive camping on the left as you enter the campground. I would say if you have solar or a honda generator ie: quite. There is plenty of room at this campground for the small egg campers, not sure if the park would let a 40ft fifth wheel park on the grass though. The hungry mother rally is on our list, just hard to get away while working

You'll be the second Uhaul at the rally, not something you see everyday. Tony and Anita have a custom painted Uhaul.
