Eggnog, anyone?

The other night, at a holiday party, I was served some really wonderful eggnog. It was thick and almost fluffy, with just a hint of the spirits lurking within. It brought back memories of eggnog a friend of mine used to make each year... and it prompted several discussions at the party, of recipes and ''how Grandma used to make it.''

A Google search yielded several recipes; but, I am wondering if any of y'all have a particular favorite you'd be willing to share? :angel (I prefer recipes recommended by people I know... and everyone on this board falls into that category, right!)

I'd like to make eggnog on Christmas Eve, for a group of about 15 people.

If it helps, imagine that I will be out camping with a bunch of owners of molded fiberglass RVs... :winter

(Accompanying fruitcake, optional.)

Thanks, y'all! :snowman

Hi Mary
I don't know about the States, but up here we can buy eggnog in the store just like milk. I know of people who mix it with there favorite drink. My Mom used to make good eggnog and I have loved it ever since.I don't have any recepies but it is a good subject.:)
As for fruit cake?????????????

Eggnog

Yum...eggnog and fruitcake. Now there's a combination!

Sorry, Mary. Although I love eggnog, I usually buy mine in the store. I admit that homemade is usually better, but easier just to stop by and pick some up.

Remember all that talk about fruitcake? When I got the recipe from my mother, she was telling me that it really wasn't that hard. Next thing I know, she told me that I better correct my statement that her recipe was hard because she baked one for me and it was even easier than she remembered. It is ripening in the refrigerator and waiting for me. I hope no one else likes it.;) Gotta love that woman!
