We're having some friends over for the evening so wife tells me that it's my turn to cook So.........since there' no snow here
Guess I'll do BBQ salmon marinated in spicey italian dressing
Rice with mixed vegatables and a tbl spoon margarine seasoned to taste
lettuce salad with thin sliced red and yellow peppers. diced apple. celery and some chopped nuts
haven't made up my mind as to which dressing Might stick with the Italian to make them more compatibile with the salmon
Wife made a double chocolate cake you'd die for.
"Bring it on"
Happy New Year to all!

Donna: I just ate the last ham sandwich of 2006 In the South the tradition for New Year's Day is to have a meal of beans and rice...with the hope that all subsequent meals for the year will be much better. Actually a big pot of red beans with ham hocks and rice is a tasty treat and the food of my people.

Call me when it's time for home-made chocolate cake!

Is that the from-scratch with cocoa one-layer cake with the home-made chocolate icing? If so, call me WAY BEFORE anyone else is even thinking of the cake....

Apply 1/2 inch thich on toasted bread or buns

Just finished my marinade
1 450 bottle italian dressing

1/2 tsp black pepper
Will coat salmon steakes and leave set
about 1 1/2 hours before cooking. I want to put them on the grill about 11:45 so that they will be ready just before midnight. Got most of the other things almost ready so that there will be a minimum of prep time and maximim time for friends
Hope alls well talk at you next year Two thumbs up

In Pennsylvania the traditional New Years eve/or New years day meal is Kolbassi and Sauer Kraut.
I guess they want all "cleaned out" to start the new year out with a healthy colon.
I am glad I don't have to eat at my sister-in-laws on New Years eve any more.
I vote for almost anything but Sauer Kraut as a yearly New years meal
For all of u eastereners out ther, enjoy. Maybe if I liked Sauer Kraut I would feel differently. Wonder how that tradition got started? My sister-in-law says they all eat that in the Pittsburgh area on New Years.
Here it is left over ham, cookies, etc
