Mesh Food Tents/Food Covers

Am I the last one to learn about picnic table food tents? I just ordered a set for next year!

Nope! My mom had several when we were growing up. They work great!

I've known about food mesh tents for years and never felt any need for them. Most of our meals are inside the trailer those outside are eaten fast enough that a tent is NOT needed.
Most of our camping life was spent one to 5 miles from the nearest road. Carrying extra stuff was not practical it was just extra weight on your back.

Probably the difference between dining and eating.

We use them camping and at outdoor get to gethers for any food on the tables. The last meal we had in our trailers was in "2000' or early earlier. In the 3 years we've had the Scamp we've boiled water in it once.

We had them when I was a kid, and I’ve never found them that helpful. For serving containers, just put on a cover after you’re done serving. Not much good on your plate while you’re eating, either- it’s just in the way.

If bugs are a problem, I like Greg’s solution best.
