Looks like you are getting the hang of this little grill. Beer can chicken is very good. Did you get any of the accessories? They really expand the possibilities of what you can do with it.

The fry pan is great for breakfast. The wok is a pan for all manner of things. I even really like the cutting board because it is always a nice clean place to set the dome while working with the food or charcoal.

I'm roasting a whole chicken tonight with Belgian endive on the side. I'll do a risotto on the "real" stove. I figure by the time we go to Egg Harbor next week I'll have my techniques nailed. Oh... and I'm going to do a loaf of bread, too.

Were you going to your bread on the Cobb? Here is a post of a loaf I made on mine.

Bread baked on the Cobb Grill
I decided to give baking some bread on the Cobb a try. I must say, it far exceeded my expectations.

I used coconut charcoal and got the grill blazing hot. I used the deflector plate and the rack. When it was hot, I quickly opened the lid and set the pie pan with the bread on the rack and immediately got the lid back on. I did not look for 25 min. When I did check it, it was getting done faster on one side, so I just rotated the least done side to the hotter area. It took about 45 min. to reach the desired level of doneness. I expected the bottom to be a little over done, but it was nicely browned just like the rest of the loaf.

The recipe was Rose's Hearth Bread, from the back of an old Better for Bread flour bag. It is a very simple recipe. terry

On Friday night I did a loaf of bread AND a whole roast chicken on TEN briquettes. Frakking amazing. The bread and chicken were both great.
