recipes

Does anyone have some good recipes for camping they would like to share. I am looking for something that is easy to fix, tastes good, and is good for you. Or something that I have not tried before.
Many thanks if you can share

I want to add : tacos in a bag. get the samll size bags of doritos, nacho chips or what kind you like, one for each serving. Brown the ground meat/Moringstar crumbles or whatever, chop tomatoes, onions, shred lettice, slice black olives, do whatever is necessary to what you like to put in your tacos. Then: Cut a small slit in the bag,(to let the air out) crunch up the chips then slit it open along the side, add the meat and whatever else you like on/in your tacos. Don't forget salsa, hot sauce, etc. Each person get a bag and fills it as they go along the line of possibilities. No plates, few forks, tastes good and is pretty easy.

Taco salad

Taco salad is a real easy fix. Take every thing bagged and layer it in a dish when you get there. My family loves the dressing I make for ours, so I save a little for dipping chips in and that adds a little more to the meal.

I have started using chicken instead of beef and more beans than meat. I use lighter versions of dressing ingredients to up the health value of the dish. I even bake my own chips from low fat corn tortillias to bring, and that lightens every thing up, considerably.

Hobo Stew!
onion, garlic and spices (s/p, and any spices you like - curry, cumin, oregano etc)
Several vegetables like mushrooms, any variety of squash, tomatoes, corn, peas, green beans, etc (whatever you have handy)
Starch - cut up some little potatoes, or leftover rice or pasta
Meat - chicken, ground beef, sausage (again, whatever you have around)

Cut ingredients up; wrap in individual packets of heavy-duty foil; season as desired.
Place foil packets on the grate over your campfire - wait about 20 minutes - Enjoy!!

Easy, tasty, no pots to clean.

Thanks, but I don't have a kindle. I am sure other people reading this might be able to use this information.

Anne,
I even make Hobo packets with various ingredients in them at home in the oven. I like all this different combinations you can throw together and forget about it until they are done. Easy cleanup too!

As a transient college weirdo I eat a lot of ramen noodles, but it doesn't have to be awful. This is one of my favorite recipes for poor-man's pho
Ramen Noodles
Lemon Juice
Cilantro
Mushrooms
Fresh ginger
Minced garlic
Hotdogs, spam, or lunch meat

Boil the ramen with 1 part lemon juice to 2 part water.
Include chopped cilantro, garlic, sliced mushrooms, a few slices of ginger, and cheap meat to the mix.
When noodles are soft pour into a bowl and add Sriracha "cock sauce" to taste.
Top with some fresh mushrooms and spinach leaves
Wonder what the poor folk are doing while you slurp down your noodle nirvana.
