The Topics on this board reminded me of when years ago we grew some Salsify or
<Oyster plant>> Ours had a tough time growing in the Pumice soil but we had enough to harvest . A root Vegtable we made Scallped Salsify it had a hint of Oyster flavor. Very good. Has anyone found this in stores or tried it.

Salsify is one of the specialty dishes at the Shaker Village dining hall at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. My husband tried it and enjoyed it very much. They also sell it (canned) in the village gift shop. Great place to visit, if you're near Lexington, KY and enjoy history, peace and quiet and a beautiful landscape!
