Here's a true one that happened to me yesterday...
One of the other teachers has miniature donkeys and most years they're having babies (whatever you call the babies). One of the donkeys had a baby two weeks ago (he was ADORABLE!) and my friend, Mary Lynn, was waiting on the other. The mama is white but the daddy is grey and every year she hopes for a white one. I saw MaryLynn yesterday and asked, "Do you have a new baby yet?" She was all excited, "Yes, Monday morning!" I asked, "Boy or girl?" She answered that it was a boy. "Oh, another boy, too bad," I said (the one born a couple weeks ago was a boy too). So then I asked, "Is he white?" She got this confused look on her face, one of the other teachers said, "Lisa, I didn't know you were racist..." and my friend said, "He looks just like his daddy." "Oh, he's gray then," I told my friend and to the other teacher I said, "I'm not racist, I'm talking about MaryLynn's donkeys." My friend Mary Lynn said, "Oh, the donkeys! I'm talking about my sister--she had her baby Monday!"
I don't know...it's not quite so funny written down, but it was hysterical in a group of teachers at Burger King!
