Campsite Trespass Solutions

Someone posted the following dilemma on another RV forum the other day, and many of the answers were amusing. I've compiled and copied them here.

Question: This may sound silly, but I am currently camping and one neighbor cuts across my site while he is going and coming from his boat.
It is not that he is cutting through BUT when he does, he is within 2 feet of my camper door and within 4 feet of us sitting there talking.
I struck up a conversation with him and during this conversation asked if he would mind crossing the campsite a little further back from our camper. At that point he stormed off and said kiss my a..
Anybody have a simialr experience and if so were you able to resolve it? (A subsequent post revealed that the person continued to frequently cut through the site, close to the RV.)

Mark it (the campsite) off with crime scene tape.

Start hanging your laundry on a strategically placed clothesline.

got a dog or cat with you? save some of their poo and sprinkle it liberally along his chosen path... but be sure to clean it up before you leave.

I had a guy that was doing that all the time so I started giving him a job when he came through- help me move my table, can you see the leak under my trailer, on your way drop this trash bag at the dumpster.......My wife couldn't keep a straight face and started ducking in when he cut through. Never stopped him but I had a blast!

Camo netting around the perimeter works great for me.

When someone continually does that, I just offer them a cold beer and ask if they are interested in gay animal porn. They seem to steer clear and never make eye contact with me again.

Sit outside with your pitbull. See if that deters him.

Next time he walks so close to your camper, stand completely naked at the screen door and whistle at him!

You weren't thinking fast enough. When he said 'kiss my a..' you should have said, 'Ok, drop your pants and bend over!' If he had the nerve, a good swift kick...

Have two orange traffic cones and 20 foot of yellow plastic chain, works for us

Next time he walks thru your site on the way to his boat, follow him to the boat and hop in. When he asks what you think you are doing, say "I thought we were sharing our things?" With a sad face

After a friendly conversation and the other party shows their 'stupid' I have no problem spraying them with my garden hose. "Oops..just cleaning MY site"

Put out a lawn sprinkler and water the grass.

Hire professional protesters to picket your neighbor(s) with signs that read "Don't Tread on Me!" and "Green Lives Matter!".

How about string some fishing line around your campsite neck and ankle high.

Drop a few laxatives down his waterfill.

That's pretty good, Mike! There are a lot of "boundary challenged" people out there. I guess I try to avoid being in places where they will get all up in my business. Camping between the boat put-in and other campers is probably asking for trouble. Do you think growling or barking at people would work? If people think you're nuts, maybe they'll steer clear!

This is one of the things I dread--because I'm not very aggressive normally and it arouses my evil side. so I'll either just put up with it and seethe... or I'll do something I will probably regret. I'd regret getting him angry enough to tell me to kiss his a. I'd rather kiss zzzzs. And then to have him still crossing through? I'm never sure where my snapping point is, but that's getting there!


What about moving the picnic table to block the pathway?

What about kids who draw with chalk all over "your" hard surfaces, asphalt, cement, etc.? Write things and make arrows and faces and "art?" I'm afraid I find it as charming as dropped bicycles in the roadways and balls flying into the campsite...

We have 5 children and 11 grandchildren so we may be slightly more tolerant of kids being kids.. Adults acting like spoiled children is a different subject. I will never understand why many "ADULTS" find it necessary to consume mass quantities of alcohol usually until late in the evening in order to enjoy themselves.

Not against any religions but maybe spread awake magazines around the campsite and I think they'll stay away

How about some anti-personnel land mines, punji stake pits, man trap hole in the ground with cobras or a Bengal tiger? Learned a lot of fun tricks in 'Nam.

Hilarious, all of it! I use the little sports comes near my 30 amp shore power cord, but that's so no one gets hurt or yanks on it while plugged in.

My only strategy this far has been to stare them down, and then when almost through your site to say, "Seriously dude? You couldn't walk through the common area right behind all these trailers?"

Annoying! I could try the standing at my Scamp door naked thing, but I might end up scaring my dog. Oh, wait a minute! She could then in absolute fright pee on the trespasser! 😋
