We were at Monticello not too long ago to photograph some stoneware. Need to go back as Tabitha didn't get to see the interior. I've done a lot of genealogical research on my potters using the bricks and mortar archives and ancestry.com- amazing what can be found. My own parents only came here from Germany in 1968 so no ancestors to track in the US

Ollie I love it! That's just what I had in mind, with the caption - "IT'S MY EGG!!"
It's either that or here's something I had in mind also for the logo for EggFest Ontario 2013 with big question marks above the chicken's head.
If we decided to go with yours could we use it? as long as we gave you credit, and how much would you charge to use it.

A co-worker of mine made a nice little bonus check from cafe press and another web site where customers pick the design and item to put it on. You set the final price by what you charge above what the item provider charges for the item.
This gives you a flexible way to be compensated for your work. If you do a from scratch logo design for a rally you charge a bit more for items with that design. If they want a logo already created and in your portfolio but with different year or message you could charge a little less for items with that design.
If you could come up with some logo designs with space where you to easily put a custom message you might reduce your work load while still providing a really neat service. With many rallies being annual events they may only need "10th Annual" or "2012" type modifications. Or maybe a location for those that take place at different parks by the same group.
One note of caution, providers can change the price they charge but your price may remain the same at some sites, my co-worker suddenly found his profit check dropping from one outlet and that was the cause.
Good luck on your dissertation, it by all means should be a priority.

Thanks Vivian! Feel free to use it
That's a great chicken- and better as a logo probably!
I'll clean up 1,2,6, and 7 when I get a chance

I'm another vote for #3 for simplicity. I also like that it's clearly an "egg" camper going someplace.

Just being nosy... Where are you doing your Ph.D. work? UV, George Mason, Virginia Tech, Wm. and Mary, Univ. of Richmond, etc.?
CindyL and I are a double-doctorate family ... her Ph.D. is from the Univ. of Iowa and my Ed.D. is from the Univ. of Northern Iowa. No big deal other than we've been through the same pain!

These are great and thanks for doing them. If I have to put them in order, I would say 4 (I love the thought of our “egg” hatching), 3, 2, 1

Wonder if something like #3 which is the "egg" speeding to the right could be overlaid on a state background like this one? Without the map title lettering.

First of what is hoped will be an annual Michigan Glassic Egg Scramble is going to be this Sept. It would be great to have a logo that could be printed on something for people that attend.

Ollie, these are wonderful. If ever you do decide to make them into postcards or to sell the jpg for reuse by others--they'd be great framed or on a hat or T-shirt, please add me to the mailing list.

Ollie, I hope that you don't mind that I had your great UHaul "Welcome to Camp" printed on a window decal for my front door window.
Kind of hard to photograph, but here it is at night when back lit. The graininess is from the night photo, the actual image is crisp.

That is cute. Did you print it off yourself or have it done? If yourself what product did you use - was it a window cling type?

I used a place called Build a Sign. They had a free shipping deal, so the cost was nominal. The decal is clear to be placed in the inside of a window.
