We are here in the Bakken in our 32' home. Got groceries Saturday and emptied the tanks. Seams are frosted in the trailer but we are warm and the water is still running.

Weather man said we beat an all time low since 1912. (zero degrees)
It apparently hit -2*F. actual temp. in Tulsa.
Bartlesville, Ok was -14*F. with chill factor of -24*F.
We've already used up 1/2 our 1,000 gallon propane tank.
That's usually where it is in February after the cold begins to go somewhere else.

Our kids moved to Florida for various reasons.........
One "excuse" was the weather........well, today they are
putting boxes over their palm trees because it's going to
get below freezing.......LOL. It should remind them covering
their garden plants around here.

It's Winter here in Michigan, and gentle breezes blow.
Thirty miles an hour, At sixteen degrees below.
Oh, how I love Michigan when the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air, And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful, So I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave dear Michigan, 'cause I'm frozen to the ground!
I like having four seasons I just wish they were not June, July, August, and SNOWMOBILE!
Literally snow in backyard is deeper than our dog and she is 18 inches at the shoulder. She charged and jumped her way out to her potty spot then realized it's kind of hard to "go" buried up to your chin in snow. Had to make a few passes in the back yard with the snow blower to giver her a dog run. Boy was she one happy dog.

I used to haul Webb Wheel blanks from a foundry in East Jordan, MI.
Decades ago, but have always intended to take a winter vacation to
Michigan. Don't think this is the year to do it though...............LOL
We hauled in the winter time as well as the rest of the year.
I loved driving through Michigan. Just didn't like the 18 hours getting there.

I can absolutely, positively guarantee no mosquitos this time of year and if you appreciate a nice campfire in July I'm betting a campfire in January will beat it all to heck.

I feel your pain as I sit here in so. Az. So glad I sold farm, cows, and sheep this past summer and am free of outdoor chores this winter. New owners of farm and several of my sheep called to say a set of trippletts were born early a.m. with windchill at -19...mom and lambs doing fine, I think they wanted me to feel guility that I finally retired at age 70. Stay warm and dry.

Yippeee! the "Polar Vortex" is leaving the Midwest.
Dumped 12" of snow on Indianapolis on Sunday, -13F with -33F wind chill this morning. Pretty unusual for us, coldest in 20 years. We are already above our snow average for the entire season.
It's up to a balmy +6F now with +40F and rain predicted for Saturday.
Go figure!
