Who gets it?
AP news article last week said that average price of gas (U.S.) had increased 22 cents at the pump since Jan. 1. (That's right on the mark locally.) Went on to say that the marketer's price had increased 14 cents during the same period. Go figure.

The picture tells it all. I am glad that we are pulling the lightweight trailers. What are the big rigs doing? They must have to float a big loan. In Arkansas along I40 gas is 1.53 to 1.60. We are being gouged pretty good, I think. Still going out, not going to keep me in the house. Been in the house all winter and it is about time to go to the lake. Fish are going to be biting soon and I plan to accomodate them.

Well, George, I figure the owners are making out like bandits ... that's how I figure it ;)

Fred, you got that right!
Thanks for the chuckle Lacy!
Just hope regular doesn't skyrocket up to two legs instead of just one ... or we'll all be on crutches!

The petroleum industry is connected to my business. I can assure that the individual owners of each station make diddly squat when it comes to selling gasoline. They make money of the c-store and carwash, drivethru, etc. They have absolutely no control over the price as that is dictated to them by the major oil companies.
Now ask me if I think it is a coincidence that generally every station in a given area has the same price and raises and lowers that price as if by magic. The major oil companies must all be psychics - ya - that's it! :o

That is a great pic, Lacy!
I forwarded it to several of my friends. Nice that Tom (of Tom's Shell) has a sense of humor. I wonder if his sign helped his business any...

Cold comfort!
While it may be less than consoling for those of us who are mourning our pocketbooks right now, we should keep in mind that we are *STILL* paying less than half of what most of the world pays for petrol. ('Course, since our vehicles suck up more than twice what others around the world do, I guess it all evens out! Right? Huh? :conf )

Fuel Prices
You Think A Gallon Of Gas Is Expensive?:hap2
Makes one think, and puts things in perspective.
Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ......... $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ....... $ 9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .............. $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ......... $10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ........... $33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ......... $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .......... $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ................ $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .................. $84.48 per gallon
this is the REAL KICKER......
Evian water 9 oz for $1.49 ........ $21.19 per gallon.
$21.19 FOR WATER! ....and the buyers don't even know the source.
But then again EVIAN spelled backwards is naïve.:wave
So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't
run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid, PEPTO BISMOL or NYQUIL!!!!

Well, shut my mouth! that is a really new way at looking at the price of gas.
12 oz can of DP (dr pepper)
4 qt = 1 gal
2 pint = 1 qt
2 cups = 1 pint
8 oz = 1 cup
= a whole lot.
(8x2=16x2=32x4=124/12 =10.33 can per gal
.50 a can = $5.12 well it's not as bad as pepto

I just revived this old thread on gas prices. Today prices are at $1.10/Liter. In other parts of Canada it is higher. Looking through the thread we all thought it was high then, now look at the prices.

Paid $2.93 a gallon on Monday here in Portland, Oregon. Cost me a bit more than $60 to fill my Ford F-150... sigh. That will last me six commuting days.

Seems like I paid $2.15 a gallon a few days ago. Gas is always WAY cheaper down here than in the S.F. Bay Area. A full tank in my F-150 will last barely two weeks if I don't go out of town. I'm fortunate that my commute is under 20 miles round trip.
