Holiday songs

One of my favorite Xmas music videos is "rusty Chevrolet" by DaYoopers. If I knew how I'd post a link to it but you'll have to google it yourself. Also, do you all know the origin and words to " deck us all with Boston Charley"?

My favorite is "Decorations", by Bob Rivers (sung to the tune of the Beach Boys song "Good Vibrations")....

I love the colored lights everywhere
And the way the neighbors stop their cars and stare
I strap a Santa Claus on my roof
Plastic candy canes and reindeer everywhere

I'm stringin' up decorations
It's straining the power stations
Fake icicle light formations
Imported from Third World nations
I'm stringin' up decorations
I'm freaking out fire stations
I'm pumping out radiation
My neighbors are out of patience

Gotta keep those yuletide decorations up all winter
God appreciates my plugged in tribute to the Savior
God would love me if I could keep 'em up till well past Easter...
AMEN!

I'm putting up a manger station
Three wise men's destination
Nutcrackers in full Claymation
Little Drummer Boy animation

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la

I'm stringin' up decorations
It's straining the power stations
Fake icicle light formations
Imported from Third World nations...

Another Bob Rivers classic "Didn't I Get This Last Year"...

Said my nephew Tim to his Aunt Louise
Didn't I get this last year
Didn't I get this last year
Same thing every year Aunt Louise
Didn't I get this last year
Didn't I get this last year
Some socks, some socks, and some tiny BVDs
But I can't get them up past my knees
Could you return them please Aunt Louise

Open this one first Uncle Bob
Didn't I get this last year
Didn't I get this last year
Try to act surprised Uncle Bob
But I got this last year
But he got that last year
A Tie, a tie, wider than a mile
With the pattern way out of style
With the pattern way out of style

Said my wife to our neighbors 'cross the street
I think we got this last year
I think we got this last year
What a thoughtful gift Peg and Al
I think we got this last year
I think we got this last year
A plant, a plant in a moldy mayonnaise jar.
They must have dug one up from their yard
They must have dug one up from their yard

Said the dad to his kids on Christmas day
Didn't I get this last year
Didn't I get this last year
This is just exactly what I want
Just as much as last year
Just as much as last year
Surprise, surprise, a coupon for some fries
That was really very thoughtful you guys
Really very thoughtful you guys

Didn't I get this last year
I'm sure I got this last year
Didn't I get this last year

I am a big sucker for Perry Como's "Christmas Dream" along with the Dickies doing Silent Night in high speed 70s style punk rock.

I love the traditional carols the best. I remember singing them in school, at church, with the family... And, I still do sing them.

Pop songs... kind of retro. Big fan of "Silver Bells" and Bing's "White Christmas."

Frederick, thanks for posting the links, but I couldn't get the rusty Chevrolet video to play. I'm glad to see someone remembers Pogo Possum. Right now we are in a campground about an hour away from Pogo's home, the Okefenokee Swamp!!
