I hit a huge pothole today...

Damages: Cracked windshield, destroyed tire pressure sensor and my odometer lost a digit.

On the bright side- the truck now has 200,000 fewer miles.

Drive safely

What year truck? Couple guys at work were talking about body seam flex causing noise and cracked windshields on some year model GM trucks.

Was it a pothole or a crater? You are lucky you didn't loose a tire too.

If this story was posted as a joke, why is everyone taking it seriously?

Joke? Hmmmm. I don't know how you'd have this amount of damage without a blow out. Either the driver is lucky, or this is a joke that isn't particularly funny.

Jason
It is a 2008 Express 2500 with 268,000 miles.

I have two other Express vans and an Express box truck.
The box truck is now the only one without a cracked windshield.

No joke.

The roads this year are exceptionally bad.

I was amazed when it didn't blow a tire or bend a rim.

If you lost 200,000 miles off your vehicle, maybe you also lost 10 years off your age???

Pothole

Perhaps this thread needs to be moved out of the "joke" group, as it doesn't seem to belong here.

841K9: Sorry I misread the story.

I don't know if the vans had the same issue. But the age of vehicle seems right. The diesels were a bigger issue because the added vibration caused annoying noise behind the dash.

Sorry to hear that. I thought only Pennsylvania and Michigan had those kinds of pot holes.

Nothing damaged underneath.

My current truck ('10 3500 crew cab) developed a bad knock and I use this as a spare. Just waiting on a new crate engine from GM and a new 3500 Express I ordered.

Thanks for the concern.
