It means nothing, it just sounds like it should mean something! It dates from my HS days in 1956. I'm not sure but I think that we got it from Mad Magazine which in those days was a 10 cent comic. At any rate we thought that it was cool to write it on blackboards etc. and occasionally in conversation with the uninitated we would sagely say "Well, you know, It's Crackers..." Through the years I have kept up this practice but sad to say I met up with my old friend a few years ago and he didn't even remember it.
