Sometimes it just happens

Once in a lifetime find. Sometimes it takes a little work to find something like this, sometimes it just happens. On our trip outwest it took us to the Badlands and low and behold it happened we spotted a fossilized egg camper. From the area we were in it appeared to be at least 11,000 years old. Fred and Barney have long disappeared and so has the tug. With no one around the best we could do was to snap a picture of it.

I'm not sure if I should be thrilled or terrified at what they might do with the DNA.

Back then, the quality of the resin they used was very poor.
Because of this, most trailers did not survive. Lucky find !

Someone needs to rehab that egg. Such a rare brand (Stoner) will surely bring a nice resale price.

If you look closely there appears to be one to the left and right, and further back in the rock face there are more yet to exposed. We might have stumbled onto an early egg rally.

Amber is fossilized tree resin, looks like there are some high quality, long lasting examples!

No tug, they hitched up Dino. He and his buddies have since turned into petrol and are pulling another egg somewhere.

Well I just hope they keep it all "original" if they rehab it. Be a shame to take such a rare find and mess it up with electric lights and stuff. Or heaven forbid remove the fire ring on the floor or cover the smoke hole in the roof with a vent!

If a little rain coming through the smoke hole bothers you then you should not purchase these classic models.

Hi: 2yax2go... I sure hope if you can hammer out a deal...you can keep it all original. The old "Egg Shell" finish is hard to beat. The ice age fridge might take some work and the tyres probably look like Lizard skin... but don't let that deter you from a "Shell" off restoration!!!
